We’re a seasonal, volunteer-run community pool in Golden Square, Bendigo that was saved from closure by the people who love it, more than once. Over a hundred locals volunteer to keep it going every summer. We’re Golden Square’s beating heart with three pools, murals, lots of shade and grass, festivals, doggo swimming and good retro vibes.

Tickets are $50 /person. Come alone or invite all your friends and family.

Anyone can attend A Night in the Deep End as long as they are 18+. Never heard of Golden Square Pool? Come join us and bring a few friends. Long term Golden Square Pool volunteer? We can’t wait to see you back at the pool.

Thank you for wanting to support Golden Square Pool. We accept donations anytime – you can donate here. You can also buy a Season Pass when we open for the season. Tell your friends and family about us – we love meeting new people by the pool.

It's no one's idea of fun to wade through water to get a drink. We'll keep an eye on the weather and make a call by Tuesday 27 October 2026. If it looks like it will be raining to the extent that we can no longer run the event, we'll contact you with updates and next steps – including the option to have your ticket refunded.

Yes we do – and the brief is simple: formal with a touch of summer, worn however it feels best on you. Think: - A tux with the pants swapped out for boardies - A slip dress with sneakers and floaties - A crisp suit in linen, seersucker, or any colour but black-tie-boring - Any cultural formalwear you love – dressed up for a summer night - A jumpsuit, a suit with no shirt, a shirt with no plan - Florals, pastels, sequins, silk – anything that catches the last of the evening light Just keep a touch of summer, and skip the heels and hard soles so the pool floor stays happy – Birks, socks, thongs & Converse are all okay but skip the dress shoes and high heels. Beyond that? Surprise us. The best-dressed award is up for grabs.

Who doesn't love a touch of competition? There will be a best-dressed award judged on the night, and the winner will receive a prize!

Yes, there is parking along Maple and Wade Streets. However, we are expecting parking to be busy so consider other options like carpooling or parking at a friend's house and walking down.

We've spent a lot of time planning to make sure everyone has an enjoyable night. Some of the measures we'll have in place are: - Plastic cups to prevent breakages - Entry and exit via the accessible stairs only We also ask that everyone attending is mindful about the safety of themselves and others, and take precautions such as not running in the pool and being mindful that they are in an operating pool shell.

A Night in the Deep End is in the bottom of an empty 50m pool, this means there are some limits to how accessible we can make the event. To get to the bottom of the pool, attendees will have to climb up and down the usual pool steps and should be comfortable walking across uneven & sloped surfaces. If you have any questions please let us know and we can see how we can help.

Just let us know by midnight on Monday 26 October and we’ll give you a full refund. After that we can’t offer refunds, as our catering is locked in the next day (Tuesday 27 October). If you’d still like to support Golden Square Pool, you can choose to donate your ticket price to the pool in support of the fundraiser.
